SUFC grew even further while returning to its extreme roots.  Ottawa, Kingston and Petawawa all increased in attendance and on September 2nd, 2015 two longtime SUFC participants Jodi Bigelow and Louise Cabana accompanied Duncan Keith as they paddled across Lake Ontario.  The three paddlers followed the official lake Ontario swim route of 52 kms enduring a record-breaking temperature of 40 degrees with the humidex. Stand Up for CHEO was successful once again with almost 200 participants and raised $32,000

2014

In 2014 Ottawa saw two days of events including a SUP Ontario Race Series event on Saturday July 5th and the traditional Community Paddle on Sunday July 6th.  We also added two sister events with Community Paddles in Kingston and Petawawa. All locations offered unique experiences within the familiar community paddle format geared toward all levels of paddlers. We drew a combined total of 150 paddlers and donated $25,000 to CHEO.

Trailhead Paddle Shack Ottawa became Title Sponsor and with the kind help of other sponsors SUFC grew to a new level. 75 paddlers departed Mooney’s Bay together and completed their individual distances while raising $10,000 for CHEO.

2012

We modified the event in 2012 to make it more local and more accessible to draw more paddlers.  SUFC became an 18km paddle along the historic Rideau Canal through Ottawa's downtown core with the start and finish at Mooney’s Bay Beach, Ottawa. Over 30 paddlers joined Matt and Duncan in 2012, raising money for CHEO while having a fun time and meeting new friends.
